Hi and welcome to Unit 1 Tier 2 Activity 1. Please follow the button below for the next part of the activity.
This activity involves changing words to change the meaning of the sentences.
Emphasis is used to make certain words stand out. This can be done through volume or pitch. In a sentence it shows the listener what part is important. So in written form we will use bold to show which word to stress. Check the example below. Changing the tone gives a different sort of stress.Subject Stress
Practice using emphasis on the Bold words.
I heard that you’re settled down
That you found a girl and you’re married now.
I heard that your dreams came true.
Guess she gave you things I didn’t give to you.
Old friend, why are you so shy?
Ain’t like you to hold back or hide from the light.
